Climate crisis is a crisis that need to be acted upon with immediate effect and this can be done basically by practicing forestry so as to balance problem of food insecurity.

It is important to listen and engage young people, because they are the next leaders, generation and they are the most vulnerable to climate change. Young people are still at learning and discovering stage, then as elders we need to involve them through forming environmental clubs in their learning centers were practical demonstration sites like nursery beds can be established to make them learn how seedlings are raised, then create debating clubs. These can be best ways to engage young people.

In the whole struggle, partnership is key! Working hand in hand with the district natural resource department and the schools we have formed environmental clubs in at least two schools per sub-county where we involved children into tree planting activities, and environment education through debates under One Child One Tree Project. Each child is given a tree plant.

Am currently running community-based organisation that is taking One Child One Tree Project in my district. Our target is to plant 40,000 trees in four years. 15,000 trees are planted, 26 six schools and over 35,000 pupils engaged.

I therefore pledge to plant 35,000 trees and engage over 20,000 pupils.

| This my pledge, and

This is my green Voice!
